Is Pixtide really free?
Yes. There are no subscriptions, no premium tiers, and no in-app purchases. Every feature is available from the moment you download the app. We built Pixtide because we wanted a tool like this for ourselves, and we think charging for basic photo cleanup feels wrong.
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Pixtide works entirely on your device. Your photos never leave your phone. We do not have servers that store or process your images. The app uses Apple's PhotoKit framework to read your library locally, and all sorting decisions stay on your iPhone.
What happens when I delete photos?
Photos you confirm for deletion are moved to iOS's Recently Deleted album, where they stay for 30 days. During that time, you can recover them through the Photos app. After 30 days, iOS permanently removes them. Pixtide also lets you review every photo before confirming, so nothing gets removed by accident.
Does Pixtide work with videos?
Yes. Videos appear in your swipe session just like photos. They play inline so you can preview them before deciding to keep, delete, or save for later. Video playback starts automatically so you can make a quick decision without extra taps.
What iOS version do I need?
Pixtide requires iOS 18.0 or later. It works on all iPhones that support iOS 18, including iPhone SE (3rd generation) and newer.
How do I report a bug or request a feature?
Send us an email at hello@pixtide.com with a description of what happened or what you would like to see. Screenshots are always helpful for bugs. We read every message and try to respond within 24 hours.
