Tinder for Photos Apps: 10 Swipe-to-Delete iPhone Apps (2026)

16 min read · By The Pixtide Team · Updated September 26, 2026

On this page

A Tinder for photos app is an iPhone photo cleaner that shows one photo at a time: swipe one way to keep, the other to delete. We checked ten on the US App Store on 2026-09-25. Swipewipe is the most rated, with 4.69 from 94,247 ratings. Pixtide is the only one in the table with no purchases, no ads and no swipe cap; most others cap free swiping, show ads or bill weekly.

This page is written by the Pixtide team (we make Pixtide). We name where the other app wins. Tinder is a trademark of Match Group; the phrase is used here only to describe the swipe gesture, and none of these apps is connected to it.

Swipewipe

Swipewipe: Photo Cleaner, published by MWM, is the most rated swipe cleaner on the US App Store, with 4.69 from 94,247 ratings checked on 2026-09-25. MWM bought it in June 2024. It swipes right to keep and left to delete, month by month, with On This Day, a Decide Later bookmark and a final review before deletion. It runs on iOS 18.0, iPad and Android. The free tier is capped: reviewers report 8-hour cooldowns, and since about 2026-09-12 an ad before a deletion completes. In-app purchases run up to $9.99 a week and $29.99 a year. Sentiment has turned: written US reviews in September 2026 averaged 3.02 stars, and one read "10$ a week for something this simple is comical" (1 star, 2026-09-13). An earlier fan wrote "It's like Tinder, but for your camera roll" (4 stars, 2023-09-03). Its label declares data used to track you, and it ships AI photo enhancement. Swipewipe on the App Store.

Clever Cleaner

Clever Cleaner: AI CleanUp App, by CleverFiles (the makers of Disk Drill), is a full storage cleaner whose Swipe mode has no daily limit, rated 4.78 from 82,579 US ratings on 2026-09-25. Swipe groups photos, videos, screenshots and Live Photos by month; left deletes, right keeps, and swiped-left items wait in an in-app trash you can review. Its strength sits around the swipe: AI duplicate detection with Best Shot selection and video compression. No ads. Version 3.0 on 2026-08-17 added a $6.99 weekly plan with a 3-day trial, a $39.99 lifetime option and daily limits on every non-Swipe tool for new users; earlier installs are grandfathered. Some users were caught out: "it's $6.99 a week or $39.99 for a lifetime. Where's the free Clever Cleaner??!!" (1 star, 2026-09-01). The label lists identifiers used to track you. It needs iOS 16.0. Pick it when duplicates are your main problem. Clever Cleaner on the App Store.

Slidebox

Slidebox: Photo Cleaner App is the oldest well-known swipe organizer, launched in 2015, an Apple Editors' Choice and rated 4.81 from 16,547 US ratings on 2026-09-25. Its gestures differ from the rest: swipe up to trash, pull down to favourite, and tap an album name to file the photo into a real iOS album that syncs with Photos and iCloud. That filing is why it wins its quick pick; one reviewer wrote "Finally! Actual FILING." (5 stars, 2025-08-24). The free tier shows ads, and reviews since about September 2025 say only the most recent year is free. Purchases range from $1.99 a week to $49.99 lifetime, with no free trial. Its privacy label lists Photos or Videos under app functionality, and the policy says photos "may be uploaded". It runs on iOS 15.0, iPad, Apple silicon Mac, Vision Pro and Android. Recent reviews report deletions not applying and lost progress. Slidebox on the App Store.

Slider

Photo & Video Cleaner: Slider, by June Ninth LLC, is the indie app that owns "free, no ads" in its reviews, rated 4.84 from 11,147 US ratings on 2026-09-25. It puts photos and videos in one stack, left to trash and right to keep, with a review screen before Empty Trash, undo, sorting by oldest, newest, random or biggest, and a storage-freed counter. Its listing says "Slider works entirely on-device." That picture changed in July 2026: version 66 added a $19.99 a year Premium, and the privacy policy names Google AdMob. Many reviews still praise it, such as "This is just swipewipe... except free." (5 stars, 2026-06-11). Whether free swiping is capped today is unclear: reports conflict, and a June 2025 lockout was reversed. The label lists identifiers and usage data used to track you. The listing does not mention a decide-later queue or month sections. It supports iOS 15, iPad and Mac, and suits mixed libraries sorted by size. Slider on the App Store.

Photo Cleaner ® by Lumi Software

Photo Cleaner ®, by Lumi Software, a one-person Dutch studio, has the flow closest to Pixtide's among the well-rated apps: a month and year overview, swipe left to delete, right to keep, and a final confirmation before anything is removed. It is rated 4.79 from 4,974 US ratings and was updated on 2026-09-25. Swiping is unlimited on the free tier, a point reviewers repeat: "Completely free to swipe/use as much as you want, unlike other popular apps" (5 stars, 2026-01-30). The trade is ads (the page states Contains Advertising, and reviewers describe an interstitial after each finished month) plus a Premium at $3.99 a week, $7.99 a month or $29.99 a year that unlocks duplicates, similar photos, screenshot cleanup and ad-free use. Its label lists location, identifiers, usage data and diagnostics used to track you. It is English only and needs iOS 16.4. The listing does not mention a decide-later queue or undo. Photo Cleaner ® on the App Store.

Daily Delete

Photo Cleaner: Daily Delete, by In Ordinem LLC (formerly GoodOnes, then Ollie), is built around a daily habit: each day it deals a short deck of the photos you took on today's date in past years. It is rated 4.71 from 1,862 US ratings on 2026-09-25. Left deletes and right keeps; there is a month calendar, undo, a review grid before confirming, and videos with fast-forward. It also uses AI to recommend trash and, since 2026-08-23, to group similar shots, which some reviewers say they cannot switch off. The free tier works "one day at a time" per its FAQ; Pro costs $6.99 a week or $33.99 to $39.99 a year, with no lifetime option. The listing says "No ads", while the App Store page shows Contains: Advertising and the label declares usage data used to track you. One fan: "Very easy to commit to doing this everyday" (5 stars, 2025-04-22). It needs iOS 15.0 and runs on iPhone only. Daily Delete on the App Store.

Swipe & Delete

Swipe & Delete Photo Declutter, by Eruka Tech, still indexed by many search engines as "Swipe Delete: Photo Declutter", is one of the three apps ChatGPT named when asked for a Tinder for photos app. It is rated 4.50 from 1,007 US ratings on 2026-09-25. You swipe to keep or delete month by month with per-month progress, favourite while swiping, undo, and confirm on a review screen with Keeping and Deleting tabs. No swipe cap was found. The catch is ads tied to deleting: the developer wrote in 2024 that ads appear "only when deleting more than a few photos", and a reviewer replied "STOP GIVING AN ADD TO DELETE ONE FREAKING PHOTO" (2 stars, 2026-02-26). Eight ad-removal purchases run from $1.99 to $39.99, including a $4.99 weekly option. The label declares identifiers used to track you. The 2026-09-24 update ended a 20-month gap between releases. It runs on iOS 15.0, iPad and Android. Swipe & Delete on the App Store.

Pixtide

Pixtide is a free iPhone photo cleaner with three swipes: right keeps, left deletes, down sends a photo to a Decide Later queue. It has no in-app purchases, no subscription, no ads and no swipe limit, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25, and no AI: you decide every photo. It sorts by month, year, category (screenshots, videos, selfies, Live Photos, panoramas, favourites, bursts), recent photos or On This Day, and videos play inline with sound and a scrub bar. Swiping only marks a photo; a review screen shows everything marked before you confirm, the Undo button covers the whole session, and confirmed deletes sit in Recently Deleted for 30 days. The privacy label lists only Data Not Linked to You, with no tracking section. The honest limits: Pixtide does not detect duplicates (Apple's Duplicates album does that for free), shows only the representative photo of a burst, runs on iPhone only and needs iOS 18.0 or later. It launched in 2026, newer than most apps here, with far fewer ratings. Pixtide on the App Store.

SwipePhotos

SwipePhotos: Photo Cleaner, by Jan Philip Wahle in Germany, is the one paid-only app here; its listing says sorting and deleting need a purchase, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25. What the money buys is reach across devices: one purchase covers iPhone and iPad (iOS and iPadOS 18.0) and a native Mac app (macOS 15.0) with keyboard shortcuts and iCloud sync of decisions. Swipe right keeps, left deletes and a heart favourites. It adds month-by-month decks, a Smart Stack for bursts and near-duplicates, a review tray, pinch to zoom and a video sound toggle. US prices run from $7.99 a week and $9.99 a month to $34.99 to $79.99 a year, or $29.99 to $69.99 for lifetime access, with a 3-day trial. There are no in-app ads, but the label declares purchases, identifiers and usage data used to track you. Its listing describes undoing only the last swipe. Choose it to sort on a Mac keyboard. SwipePhotos on the App Store.

Sifty

Sifty: Swipe Photo Cleaner, by Spruzzo Labs in Canada, is a small app whose concept sits close to Pixtide's: a deck per month, one photo at a time, right to keep, left to let go, down to file into an album, and a staged review pile before anything is deleted. It is not Siftly, a different app with a similar name. Sifty is free for 40 photos a day, then $3.99 a week or $29.99 a year, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25. Its listing promises "No ads, no tracking, no account", and its privacy label reads Data Not Collected, a stricter label than Pixtide's. The pitch is a ritual rather than a marathon, "Five minutes a day", which makes it our other daily-habit pick. It shows exact storage saved and surfaces likely duplicates. The listing does not mention video playback or a decide-later queue. It needs iOS 18.6 or later. Sifty on the App Store.

Four more swipe apps worth knowing

These four also come up for Tinder for photos questions (checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25).

  • Photo Organizer: Picnic (4.81 from 9,685 US ratings) swipes left to archive and right to keep. MWM bought it on 2026-04-09; reviewers report ads since July 2026 and the free cap cut from 100 to 20 swipes a day: "the free track has 20 swipes a day, making it next to useless" (2 stars, 2026-08-30).
  • Quack: Photo Cleaning App (4.99 from 67 US ratings) is free with no ads and a tip jar that unlocks nothing; its label reads Data Not Collected. It has not been updated since 2026-05-23, and its listing does not mention video.
  • Favvy: Clean your photos (4.64 from 75 US ratings) gives 100 swipes a day free, then $4.99 a week up to a $49.99 lifetime.
  • Flic: AI Photo & Video Cleaner (4.52 from 1,110 US ratings) is the 2014 original, relaunched on 2026-09-07 after no updates since March 2019. 50 free swipes a day, then $6.99 a month, $39.99 a year or $49.99 lifetime.

How we compared

Every fact here comes from competitor files the Pixtide team built on 2026-09-25 from US App Store listings, in-app purchase lists, privacy labels, Apple's lookup data (ratings, versions, minimum iOS) and the public review feeds. For the larger apps we read hundreds of reviews each: 967 for Swipewipe, 965 for Clever Cleaner, 816 for Slidebox, 446 for Picnic, 434 for Slider and 420 for Photo Cleaner ®. Where a limit is only reported by users, we write "reviewers report". Where a listing is silent on a feature, we write "not mentioned in the listing" rather than claiming the app lacks it. We did not run hands-on device tests for this page. Prices are US prices and change often, so check the App Store before you pay.

What to check before you install

Five questions separate one Tinder for photos app from another. First, what free means: a swipe cap (Sifty 40 photos a day, Flic 50 swipes, Favvy 100), a date limit (Daily Delete, one day at a time), ads, or no limit at all. Second, how it bills: a weekly plan of $3.99 to $9.99 costs $207 to $519 over a year, more than most yearly or lifetime prices on this page. Third, what the privacy label says: most apps here declare data used to track you; Sifty and Quack show Data Not Collected; Pixtide shows only Data Not Linked to You. Fourth, whether an AI pre-selects photos (Clever Cleaner, Daily Delete, Flic) or you decide each one. Fifth, safety: every app here deletes through Apple's Photos library, so deleted photos wait in Recently Deleted for 30 days (Apple Support). What differs is whether you get a review screen first and how far undo reaches.

For exact copies, the Photos app's Duplicates album merges them for free; Apple explains how to delete or hide photos and videos.

Frequently asked questions

Is there an app that lets me swipe through my photos and delete them like Tinder?

Yes, many. Swipewipe (4.69 from 94,247 US ratings), Slidebox, Clever Cleaner, Slider, Photo Cleaner ® by Lumi Software, Swipe & Delete and Pixtide all show one photo at a time: swipe one way to keep it, the other way to delete it (checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25). They differ on price, ads and daily swipe caps, not on the basic gesture.

What is the best free Tinder for photos app for iPhone?

It depends on what free means to you. Pixtide is free with no purchases, no ads and no swipe limit. Clever Cleaner's Swipe mode is unlimited and ad-free, but its other tools cost $6.99 a week for new users. Photo Cleaner ® by Lumi Software swipes without a cap but shows ads. All prices checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25.

Which swipe photo cleaner app has no daily limit?

On the US App Store on 2026-09-25, Pixtide, Clever Cleaner's Swipe mode, Photo Cleaner ® by Lumi Software and Quack had no daily swipe cap, and none was found for Swipe & Delete. Sifty stops at 40 photos a day, Flic at 50 swipes and Favvy at 100, and Swipewipe reviewers report 8-hour cooldowns.

Do swipe to delete photo apps delete photos permanently?

No. Every iPhone swipe cleaner deletes through Apple's Photos library, so a deleted photo moves to the Recently Deleted album and stays there for 30 days before iOS removes it. Pixtide, Slider, Clever Cleaner and several other apps also show a review screen before anything is deleted, so you get two chances to rescue a photo.

Are Tinder for photos apps safe for my privacy?

Read the App Store privacy label before installing. On 2026-09-25, Swipewipe, Slider, Photo Cleaner ® by Lumi Software, Clever Cleaner and SwipePhotos declared data used to track you, and Slidebox listed Photos or Videos as collected. Sifty and Quack showed Data Not Collected. Pixtide showed only Data Not Linked to You and never uploads a photo.

Is Swipewipe still free in 2026?

Swipewipe is free to download, but reviewers in 2026 report a capped free tier with 8-hour cooldowns and ads, including an ad before a deletion completes since about September 2026. Its in-app purchases go up to $9.99 a week and $29.99 a year, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-25.

Clean your camera roll, your way

Pixtide makes the manual swipe-through fast. You decide every photo, nothing is deleted until you confirm, and everything stays on your device. Free, no ads, no subscription.
