Pixtide is a free iPhone swipe photo cleaner that replaces Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe (by Happii Apps LLC, App Store id 1617533426) without a cooldown, ads or a Pro plan. Swipy lists ten in-app purchases from $0.99 to $29.99, and reviewers describe a wait between free sessions, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29. Swipy is older, with 419 US ratings, and still runs on iOS 17.

This page is written by the Pixtide team (we make Pixtide). We name where the other app wins.

Which Swipy this page is about

This page covers Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe, published by Happii Apps LLC under App Store id 1617533426, and no other app with the same name. The name is crowded: at least four other iOS apps use it, including Camera Roll Cleaner - Swipy (6752651739), Swipy: Photo Cleaner & Storage (6766192223), another Swipy under id 6754642037, and Swipy Photos (6760964661). If you are searching for the Swipy app to cancel a plan or read reviews, check that the developer line says Happii Apps.

The Happii Apps Swipy is the oldest of them. It went live on 2022-05-17 as Photo Swiper, kept that name in its release notes up to version 1.3.0 in January 2026, and was relaunched as version 2.0.0 on 2026-04-14 with the note "Completely Rebuilt!". The current version is 2.2.1 from 2026-08-27, which fixed a crash when playing videos. The US listing is called "Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe"; the UK store calls it "Swipy: Duplicate Photo Cleaner".

Swipy in September 2026: the short version

Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe is a month-by-month swipe cleaner for iPhone with a 4.51 average from 419 US ratings, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29. Swipe left to delete, right to keep, then review your choices and confirm. Since the 2.0 rebuild it also has streaks and an On This Day mode.

The headline rating and the written reviews tell different stories. We read all 29 US written reviews the App Store served on 2026-09-29: they average 3.07, with 13 five-star and 12 one-star reviews. The four US written reviews from the last 12 months average 2.0, and most of them are about charges and cancelling. The gap suggests most of the 419 ratings arrive without text, probably from an in-app prompt.

Verdict: if you are on iOS 17, want your streaks synced between devices, or the free tier covers your pace, Swipy still works. If you searched because of the wait between sessions, the ads or the paywall, Pixtide is the free swipe cleaner with no limit and nothing to buy. It launched in 2026 and has a handful of ratings, far fewer than Swipy.

Pixtide and Swipy compared

Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe and Pixtide share the same core idea, and differ on price, limits, ads, accounts and the privacy label. Swipy figures come from its App Store listing, its reviews and its privacy policy, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29.

Why people look for a Swipy alternative

The main reason people leave Swipy is the wait: its free tier has used a cooldown between sessions since December 2023, and the only way around it is an ad or a Pro plan. The pattern shows up in reviews across three years.

In 2024 one reviewer summed up the free tier as "you can only do one month per 3 hours" (4 stars, 2024-10-21). A UK reviewer in December 2025 described having to "wait 3h between each use" (5 stars, 2025-12-14), with one rewarded ad allowed per cooldown to skip it. The developer confirmed the model in a reply on 2026-04-06: "The cooldown is part of the free tier", with Pro meaning "unlimited swiping, no ads, no waiting".

What we cannot confirm is whether version 2.x kept the 3-hour wait or changed the cap. The listing on 2026-09-29 says only "Free to try. Pro unlocks unlimited swiping." Either way, a timed cap is slow for a large library. For how other cleaners limit their free tiers, see our guide to a photo cleaner with no swipe limit.

Ten purchases and a Pro plan

Swipy's App Store page lists ten in-app purchases, from $0.99 to $29.99 plus a $0.00 early user offer, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29. As shown on the US page they are: Clean Your Camera Roll $4.99, Early User Offer $0.00, Swipy 1 Week $1.99, Monthly $4.99 with 3 days free, Swipy 1 Year $29.99, Hidden Offer Monthly $0.99, Lifetime Access $0.99, Monthly $2.99, Clean your camera roll $19.99 and Swipy 1 Year $24.99.

Three different monthly prices, two yearly prices and a product named "Hidden Offer" suggest the paywall shows different offers to different people, so we cannot tell you which price you will see. The subscription block also advertises a free trial that unlocks all features for a week.

Billing is where the recent reviews concentrate. One reviewer wrote they had been "trying to cancel since Feb with no help" (1 star, 2026-05-27). Swipy subscriptions are billed by Apple, so Apple's guide to cancelling a subscription works whatever the app does. Our guide to which photo cleaner apps are free lists what the other swipe apps charge.

Account, tracking label and support

Swipy keeps your photos on the phone, but it is not account-free. Its privacy policy, last updated on 2026-08-26 at happiiapps.com, says photos "never leave your device", and describes an account identifier, an email address and Sign in with Apple, with settings and streaks synced between devices through Supabase. We have not verified whether signing in is required to use the app.

The App Store privacy label, checked on 2026-09-29, lists Identifiers under Data Used to Track You and shows no other sections. Pixtide's label lists Data Not Linked to You only: anonymous usage statistics, which you can switch off in Settings, and no tracking section. Pixtide has no account of any kind.

One practical point for anyone with a billing question: the support, privacy and terms links in Swipy's App Store listing point to pages under happiiapps.com/photo-swiper that returned a 404 error on 2026-09-29. The working privacy policy is on the Happii Apps legal page linked above, and Apple handles refunds and cancellations.

Where Swipy wins

Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe does several things Pixtide does not, and a few of them may be reason enough to stay.

  • Track record. Swipy has been on the App Store since May 2022 and has 419 US ratings at 4.51, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29. Pixtide launched in 2026 and has a handful of ratings.
  • Older iPhones. Swipy runs on iOS 17.0. Pixtide needs iOS 18.0 or later, so an iPhone that cannot update past iOS 17 cannot run it.
  • Sync between devices. Per its privacy policy, Swipy syncs settings and streaks between devices through an account. Pixtide keeps everything on one phone.
  • A cheap way to pay once. The list includes Lifetime Access at $0.99. If that is the offer you are shown, a one-off payment may cost less than any subscription, although the listing does not say what each product unlocks.
  • Languages. Swipy's description says it is available in 16 languages, although the App Store declares English only.

About 13 of the 32 written reviews we read praise how fast and simple it is and that it remembers where you left off. Its subtitle mentions duplicates, but the description lists no duplicate finder and we could not verify one.

What Pixtide does instead

Pixtide keeps the swipe and drops the wait: there is no cooldown, no daily limit, no ads, no trial and nothing to buy. Right keeps a photo, left marks it for deletion, and down sends it to a Decide Later queue for the shots you are unsure about.

Swiping never deletes anything on its own. At the end of a session, a review screen shows every photo you marked, and you can rescue any of them before you confirm. The Undo button under the card steps back through the whole session, not just the last swipe.

Videos play inline with sound and a scrub bar, so you can check the middle of a long clip before you decide. You can sort by month, by year, by category (screenshots, videos, selfies, Live Photos, panoramas, favourites, bursts), by recent photos or through On This Day. Both apps have streaks, On This Day and a space-freed count, so those are not reasons to switch. Pixtide uses no AI and no account, and your photos never leave the phone. For the other swipe apps in this group, see our Tinder for photos apps guide.

Deleting safely with either app

Both apps delete through Apple's Photos framework, so a confirmed delete from Swipy or Pixtide lands in the Recently Deleted album, where it stays for 30 days before iOS removes it for good. Apple explains how to recover or permanently remove items in its guide to deleting photos on your iPhone or iPad and in the iPhone User Guide section on deleting or hiding photos and videos.

That 30-day window matters for two reasons. First, storage does not drop straight away: the space comes back only when Recently Deleted is emptied or the 30 days run out. A 2024 Swipy review complained that the app did not really delete photos, which is how that delay usually looks from the outside. Second, it is your safety net during a switch: if you removed something by mistake in either app, you can bring it back from Recently Deleted within the month. Our guide to recovering photos deleted by an app walks through it.

One honest limitation

Pixtide is not a like-for-like replacement for everything Swipy offers. It does not detect duplicates or similar shots; Apple's Duplicates album in the Photos app finds exact copies for free. For burst photos, Pixtide shows only the representative photo, and deleting it removes that photo only, so pruning individual burst frames still happens in Apple Photos.

Pixtide is iPhone only and needs iOS 18.0 or later, one version newer than Swipy's minimum. It has no account, so streaks and stats stay on one phone and do not follow you to a new device. And it is new: it launched in 2026 with a small number of ratings, against Swipy's four years on the App Store. If older-iPhone support or synced streaks are what you need, those gaps matter more than the cooldown.

Who should pick which

Pick Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe from Happii Apps if you are on iOS 17, you want your streaks synced between devices, or the free tier's pace suits you and you do not mind an ad or a small payment to skip the wait.

Pick Pixtide if the reason you searched was the cooldown, the ads or the paywall, and what you need is to get through a large camera roll in one sitting, videos included, with a review step before anything is deleted and a Decide Later queue for the hard calls. You can also use Apple's Duplicates album alongside it for exact copies. Frequently asked questions

Is the Swipy photo delete swipe app free?

It lists ten in-app purchases from $0.99 to $29.99, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29, and reviews describe a cooldown between free sessions. What is a free Swipy alternative with no waiting between sessions?

Pixtide is a free iPhone swipe photo cleaner with no cooldown, no daily swipe limit, no ads and nothing to buy, checked on the App Store on 2026-09-29. Right keeps a photo, left marks it for deletion and down sends it to a Decide Later queue, and a review screen comes before any delete. It needs iOS 18.0 or later, while Swipy runs on iOS 17.0.

Does Swipy have ads?

Reviews say the free tier of Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe shows a rewarded ad that skips the wait between sessions, and a developer reply on 2026-04-06 described Pro as "unlimited swiping, no ads, no waiting". The App Store page did not show a Contains Advertising notice on 2026-09-29, which on its own proves little. Pixtide shows no ads at all.

Which Swipy app is the photo delete swipe one?

Swipy: Photo Delete Swipe is made by Happii Apps LLC, App Store id 1617533426, live since 2022-05-17 and called Photo Swiper until early 2026. At least four other iOS apps use the Swipy name, including Camera Roll Cleaner - Swipy (6752651739) and Swipy: Photo Cleaner & Storage (6766192223). The policy also describes an account with email or Sign in with Apple. Pixtide has no account, uploads nothing and its label lists Data Not Linked to You only.

How do I cancel a Swipy subscription?

Swipy subscriptions are billed through Apple, so you cancel them in the iPhone Settings app under your name, then Subscriptions, as Apple explains in its guide to cancelling a subscription. Deleting the app does not cancel it. The support link in Swipy's App Store listing returned a 404 error on 2026-09-29, so Apple's route is the reliable one.

Clean your camera roll, your way

Pixtide makes the manual swipe-through fast. You decide every photo, nothing is deleted until you confirm, and everything stays on your device. Free, no ads, no subscription.
